This panel is the first one I did, which is the head piece to my figure. The complementary colors I worked with are purple and yellow. I choose a yellow panel and picked a very unique portion of a piece of fabric. It was part of a dress that had very intricate texture/folds on the shoulders. If I had to use one of the definitions to express this panel I would use strange. The change of colors, amongst pattern creates a really confusing image. |
I choose to work with the complimentary colors yellow and purple again. However, this time the colors are reversed because my panel is purple this time. I would describe this image as strange which is a word the is part of the definition for uncanny! Go figure, this image is uncanny as the rest of them are. I also get a bit of a mysterious, eerie feeling which is because of the curtain like pattern on the left side that is darker and allows for the yellow/gold image seem to glow a bit. I suppose one may even explain it as ghost like. |
The complimentary colors for this panel are blue and orange. I had a very difficult finding an orange image that fit this large silhouette that really created an uncanny image. The pattern itself is a weak portion of my magazine image but incorporating the legs really pulls to the standards of being uncanny. There are tips of fingers as well which too helps achieve this feature. I would use the term provocative because the female figure is provocative in my mind: it surfaces strong reactions, especially in a high end magazine. Many people have desire to look like these female figures or bash them subconsciously because of jealousy. This is not always the case but happens often. |
The complimentary colors that were used for my last panel I did was green and red. I used an image of a face that has an extremely dramatic shadow this is very colorful, red. This image is a bit hard to make out for someone who didn't pick out the image as I did. Observing it horizontally really creates an uncanny image! I included a small portion of the eye lashes and about half of a nose. The pattern of the shadow cast too really makes for a bizarre image. |
