For this surrealist installation project we used a pot of fake flowers, a text book and a classroom chair. The pages from the book were torn out and folded into paper planes; some were precise while a few were uneven or torn. The pages were also used to show beauty due to the flower layouts. To me, this collaboration expresses that one has the freedom to fly (paper plane), but may face struggles through out life (the string tangled). Aside the struggles of surviving there is always hope and faith to carry on to a brighter future (flowers) and that is why the flowers are represented in the front. One can always move forward to better things. Lastly, a few flowers were dismantled and wedged into creases of the chair to express that beauty can be found anywhere if one makes the decision to search.
